Children have a very important place in our practice, and we believe that caring for your children’s teeth is imperative.
Some people have the wrong idea that temporary teeth care is not really important because those teeth will eventually be replaced. However, children with low levels of germs, healthy teeth and gums will grow with ease through the mixed dentition stage until all their permanent teeth have erupted.
Their visits to the dentist will be fun and rewarding and they will be able to maintain that lovely smile and be happy and healthy. They will never know about early treatment experiences and will not suffer toothaches.
Children as well as adults can feel ashamed and embarrassed about their dental problems, and that can also affect their ability to develop social skills. This is particularly important in teens.
ME Dental Practice has professionals especially dedicated to caring for the dental health of kids and teens. At that age risk factors are different from adults and need to be handled in a different way.
We are very pleased to be accepting patients on the Children’s Dental Benefit Scheme and for more information on this scheme please click here.
We often are asked many questions about
First visit? When? How? The first "regular" dental visit should be just after your child's third birthday. The first dental visit is usually short and involves very little treatment. If you feel very anxious about the event, try to relax and minimize that anxiety; kids are very good at perceiving your stress and we want them to have a great experience! Talk to your child about their teeth, explore our website together, play dentists roles, or ask your child to prepare their toothbrush to show it to us. And relax… your child will surprise you one more time on their first visit to the dentist!
