Root Canal Therapy in Toowoomba
Root canal treatment (endodontic therapy) is a type of restorative procedure that repairs the inside of a tooth, but more specifically the nerve chambers extending through the length of the root. Seven Springs Dental offers root canal therapy as one of the last options to help preserve badly-infected or dying teeth.
Do I Need a Root Canal?
You might need a root canal if you’re exhibiting signs of
- An abscessed tooth
- Severe hypersensitivity
- Large cracks or cavities
- Nerve death
- Past traumatic injury
During your examination, we’ll take a small X-ray of the full tooth structure to evaluate the root and areas immediately surrounding it. If structural damage or infection extends into the nerve tissues, endodontic therapy may be recommended.

What to Expect
Root canal treatments are typically spread across two visits 2-3 weeks apart. Depending on the number of canals the tooth has and if there is an active abscess, most visits take about an hour apiece.
We recommend placing a crown over your tooth after the root canal is completed, because weaker tooth structure may be prone to breakage. In limited situations, a small filling may also be appropriate.
Ozone Therapy Available
Our Ozone antiseptic technology diffuses water-safe antimicrobial action into the bone and soft tissues and the tooth’s root canals during your endodontic procedure. This advanced resource is frequently used in medicine for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, with no side effects. Ozone also works well for improved bone healing.
Alternatives to Root Canal Treatment
If you have concerns about the root canal procedure or want to discuss treatment alternatives available, we will be happy to address those issues as well. While endodontic alternatives may have benefits or risks of their own, we believe that all patients should have access to safe, holistic care that fits their lifestyle.
